Limiting Belief
There was a great article posted on Facebook entitled NASA Confirms- Super Human Abilities Gained. The article describes the phenomenon of people able to live off solar energy alone, a practice called sun gazing, although sun grazing may be a more appropriate term.
"Funded by NASA, a team of medical doctors at the University of Pennsylvania observed Hira 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 100 days. NASA confirmed that he was indeed able to survive largely on light with occasionally a small amount of buttermilk or water during this time."
What I find fascinating about this information is the extent to which it contradicts all conventional understanding of life, at least human life. What it suggests to me is that even our most fundamental understandings are simply belief patterns.
It would appear that the basic human 'needs' for survival are simply the current accepted belief patterns. Our belief in the necessity for food and water is so strong that we have been unable to experience anything different.
We organise ourselves on the basis of a series of 'truths' which are simply belief patterns. One exception to the rule should re-frame our whole view of the world. If something as fundamental as the basis for survival is nothing but a limiting belief pattern, what else is possible!
Next time you find yourself thinking I can't or its not possible, consider the sun gazers. When you think you cant choose from your heart because you 'need' to survive consider the sun gazers. Take it a step further and consider the sun gazers 'need' for the sun and the earth is just another belief pattern. Then perhaps choose your own reality.
That is the trigger...what would you choose? The challenge we face is to move to a Life beyond survival. Beyond the comforting paradigm of lack. To embrace our infinite selves....scarey or exciting?
