Rain in the desert

I have a reputation in certain circles of being able to influence or even control the weather. Some friends insist that I travel with them to ensure the sun and others do not invite me because I guarantee rain. If I do have any influence over meteorology it is purely unintentional and definitely unconscious. The torrential rain storm we drove through in the Arizona desert this week just had to be a co-incidence. My presence had nothing to do with this anaomly I'm sure. Nor the incredible thunder and lightening the next day...co-incidence once again.

If I could control the weather what would I choose?

To be honest I would rather leave that responsibility to somebody else. It seems who or what ever is running the show does a pretty good job. My only responsibility is too enjoy the weather, whatever it may be.

There is a great Scottish phrase which says "There is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate dress". Think of the weather as your circumstances and your dress as your attitude toward those circumstances.

If only we could all stop trying to control the weather things may feel just a little easier.
