Don't look away!

Our attention is valuable. Our attention is energy. Our attention is love. Our attention is money.

This is why there is such fierce competition for our attention.

Simply stated this is why our attention is so powerful.

One of the aspects of this current process of awakening is we are becoming more aware of where we place our attention, and at a deeper level what leads us to that attention point.

As we become more aware, we access more information and not all of that information is pleasant to acknowledge and at times the world can look a pretty awful place. The question is whether we should give our attention to the suffering in the world or simply focus on the joyous things within our personal experience?

I strongly believe that our external world reflects our internal state, and although a war on another continent may seem far removed and irrelevant at a personal level, is it not likely that the issue it represents within us is simply buried so deeply that we can't see the connection?

I know many who, quite understandably, shut out the world and refuse to look at what is going on. But I believe that with greater awareness comes greater responsibility and those areas of perceived wrong doing deserve our full attention. Not with an energy of fear, or retribution, or revenge, but with a consciousness which has allowed the greater awareness.

It is the lack of attention which actually leads to suffering, which allows injustice and imbalance and this is true on the personal stage as well as the global. Denial or a refusal to look at the world, or ourselves, with love may not serve us well moving forward.
